Pretend its July 7th

A little girl that I affectionately call "C2" recently had a birthday. On July 7, t0 be exact. That's right, she and daddy have birthdays right next to each other. I love her. We had a tough time for the first few months of her life. But with every little layer of independence she becomes a little more content. Some of our favorite things about her include: her beautiful smile, so easy to get her little bouts of crankiness marked by a squeal, shaking of the head and throwing out her arm and waving it as if to say "stay away from me" her affectionate nature - even as a very young baby she would put her head on my shoulder or chest and just rest it there, wide awake (loves giving dad cuddles, too) her adoration of her big sister Claire and her love of books. She just loves to look and listen to us read. It's adorable. If you have made it to the end of this post, here's the big news. I am twelve weeks pregnant today. The baby

I Miss Writing

I have missed posting on my blog. A complete catch-up is overwhelming, so some arbitrary updates will have to suffice. In May I started working at Ruesch & Reeve, a law firm in Hurricane, Utah. Great lawyers and the entire office is full of nice people. I feel really, really fortunate. Mostly I work from home, so between Tyler and me the children are getting where they need to go. This is me, you guys ! I carry a briefcase and everything! Tyler is on sabbatical. He's working on several projects but he is around a lot more, which is really nice. We celebrated our 17th anniversary in July by going to a diner where the air conditioning wasn't working. Romance! This is us at the diner. Kidding, couldn't find the picture. The kids are back in school and one of them started high school. One of them started high school. I know we're old enough to have a kid in high school. We're old enough to be grandparents, for crying out loud. But this...it is still an adjustment.

Here's that little Clairy Berry!

Claire Liane Stillman has graced the world with her presence! She was born August 27th at 8:45pm. I will say only this. Epidurals are a sweet gift from heaven. She is 7 lbs 2 oz, 18.7 inches long and I must say, the embodiment of perfection. We are tired, inexperienced, tired, sleep deprived, tired, and totally in love with her.
